Grand Moroccan Holiday Tour Via Merzouga Desert


DAY 1 : ARRIVAL TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL

You will be greeted upon your arrival at FES airport. then, we will be escorted to yourH. Your driver will provide brief review of your tour. Overnight and dinner night in a traditional decorated Riad. (Remember this day can be deleted if you choose to start the tour directly from the airport or your Hotel/Riad).

DAY 2 : FES DAY EXPLORATION

After breakfast in your Riad, you will start exploring the country's spiritual capital and our oldest city (FES) .by browsing its lively souks, tangle of photogenic alleyways, and historic monuments. First the Royal Palace gate that makes a peaceful welcoming between new Fes and the old one .then the Jewish headquarter and the first Mullah ever built in Morocco. Afterwards we’ll start visiting all the sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University – the oldest in the region, the Tanneries and the Attarine museum .after lunch, you’ll see the best area to stay in fes (Fes el Bali), a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its alleyways, and historic monuments such as Medersa Bou Inaniaand Babb Boujloud (the medina's main gate) this is the most exotic place that take you back for centuries. For shoppers, Fes el Bali is a paradise of local craft-work with colorful Moroccan slippers, leather-work, metalwork, rainbow-glass lamps, and tiles all displayed at stalls throughout the district. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the new city for a drink. Overnight at your Hotel / Riad.

DAY 3 : FES – IFRAN – AZROU – MIDELT

After breakfast we’ll leave Fes to explore the high Atlas Mountains, the most intriguing and beautiful natural regions of Morocco. A historical and physical barrier between the north and the pre-Sahara starting by ifran a Tidy, ordered and modern city, that feels more like Switzerland relocated to the Middle Atlas . Our trip continues alongside the trailing edge of the Cedar Forest to - Azrou - which in the local Berber means “rock, located up a steep hill through a variety of woods to the famed cedar forests inhabited by endangered Barbary Apes. Afterwards we’ll travel through the appealing routes in the region, offering both staggering peaks and well-trodden passes and great’s landscapes of Berber-populated valleys that feels very remote from the country’s urban Finally stopping at Midelt along great view of volcanic rocks. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.

DAY 4 : MIDELT - ERRACHIDIA – MERZOUGA

After breakfast we’ll drive to Merzouga desert trough the Tizi Ntalghamt to rich where Tafilalt oases and ziz valley starts .changing mountains landscapes with the exiting desert ones Passing by errachidia (you’ll have lunch and enjoy Berber Hospitality), than erfoud and rissani stopping for panoramic views along the way of ziz valley. Head through the oasis towns of Erfoud and Merzouga, then take your camel in Erg Chebbi and follow your camel guide into the Sahara Desert. Admire the incredible views as the sun sets over the high dunes. Then, arrive at a desert camp, where you spend the night, and have a traditional Moroccan dinner while local nomads play traditional folk songs. Overnight Erg Chebbi luxury desert camp.

DAY 5 : MERZOUGA AREA LIFESTYLE - CAMEL TREK CAMPFIRE

We will wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and return to get breakfast in your luxury desert camp. today you’ll be our guest in our birth land it’s time to feel and see our lifestyle. We will go all the way round the dunes via the oasis of MERZOUGA, to the nomadic depository, KHAMLIA village (a truly an African village) you’ll visit the Gnawa people, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lace of Merzouga, with its bird populations, then you’ll leave for Rissani. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and cloths. At Lunch time you can have a local pizza. We’ll return to merzouga where you’ll have free time to relax swim and revive the sensation of desert before you mount your camel, guided by an experienced camel man to explore the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi and enjoy the beauty of the Sahara desert, See it! Feel it! Love it. At your nomad tents you’ll have time to relaxed and enjoy the sunset over golden dunes. Words can hardly describe the simple, profound and breathtaking magic of watching the sunset over the golden dunes and finally, you will have dinner in front of the camp, where you will spend your first night under canvas - or if you prefer, under the stars. At your request we can bring Berber nomads musicians to play traditional music with drums and dancing around the campfire. For your convenience, our camp is equipped with western bathrooms and showers.

DAY 6 : MERZOUGA – TODGHA GORGE – DADS VALLEY

Your camel man will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise Climbing the sand to experience sunrise at Merzouga is a unique experience that is so often embedded in the minds of our visitors .then you’ll camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga admiring the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with their colors as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Raid, you’ll leave for Dads Valley (Road of a Thousand Kasbahs) through Rissani, Erfoud (a historic region and an archaeologist’s delight that is packed with fossils) and Tinghir showing the traditional rural life of this region, a beautifully constructed houses dotting the landscape of the largest oasis .reaching Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco- undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural attractions that Morocco has to offer. The walls of the gorge are cut in the walls of the gorge reaches 300 meters. Afterwards we’ll drive through the Dads Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes» and many landscapes of Berber villages. After checking on your raid we’ll get to watch the sunset on tssidrine road. Overnight at a luxury Riad.

DAY 7: DADES GORGE – ROSE VALLEY – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast at the Riad we’ll drive through The Dades Valley a fascinating part of the famous Road of a thousand Kasbahs. We’ll stop at Kalaa-Mgouna, “the rose city” famous with its annual festival of roses, to purchase the rosewater, and a lot of cosmetics local products. Continuing on to Skoura and the bird’s valley where the main features are the mud brick Kasbahs especially the Kasbah Ameridil, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area. After some hiking in the valley lunch is in a restaurant overlooking the whole valley. The tour continues to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, whose geography and beautiful landscapes has attracted many world class movie producers. Here you may choose to visit the studios, containing props used in movies, you may have already seen, such as The Mummy, Gladiator. You’ll get the chance to see Kasbah Taourirt a Hollywood backdrop (Sheltering Sky, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia) .overnight at your Luxury Riad.

DAY 8 : OUARZAZATE - AIT BENHADDOU - MARRAKECH

Waking up in the middle of the desert and watching the color of the city change as the day progress is so refreshing after breakfast we’ll dive the UNESCO protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs on this area. The Kasbah has magnificent views of the surrounding palms, before heading to Marrakech via the Tizin’tichka pass .we’ll stop to visit the town of Telouet and its ancient 17th century Kasbah then we’ll continue exploring the tIzin’tichka road especially its great landscape of Berber’s villages. At afternoon at Marrakech you can have a free time to wander in Djemâa El-Fna and enjoy its charm and have your drinks while enjoying the view from roof restaurants. We’ll get Dinner and overnight at our local Riad/Hotel in Marrakech.

DAY 9 : EXPLORING MARRAKECH

Marrakesh is a city that sums up all of Morocco's exotic North African charm. The city's name provided the root for the name of the country itself. with one of our local guide You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque built in 1162 one of the great achievements of our architecture, the Majorelle Garden full of cacti, palms and ferns, are the work of painter Jacques Majorelle, Saadian Tombs This 16th century burial ground is home to the Saadian dynasty full of mosaic tiles; the 19th century Bahia Palace with its beautiful eastern Architecture; after a break for lunch. you will have time to explore the fascinating Souks( local markets ) it’s the town's star attraction you shouldn't miss the Babouche (shoe) Souk, Chouari (carpenter's) Souk, El-Attarine (perfume and spice) Souk and the Cherratine (leather) Souk and the narrow alleys around the Djemâa El-Fna Square where In the evening, you will be enchanted with snake charmers, singers, acrobats, dancers, narrators and story-tellers – moving from one group to another, Dinner and Night Riad.

DAY 10 : MARRAKECH - ESSAOUIRA SIGTHSEEING

After breakfast in your Riad, we’ll starts visiting Essaouira one of Morocco's loveliest seaside towns and its preserved 18th-century seaport fortifications have been stamped with a UNESCO World Heritage Site listing .Your own guide fully qualified will allow you to experience Essaouira in the best possible way. First you’ll visit the Skala Fortress, this bastion offers picturesque views over the fishing port and the Île de Mogador, the port, Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Museum a fusty museum has a small collection of Jewells, costumes, woodcarving and weapons from the region. You’ll get to walk through the alleys of the medina and past the hundreds of handicrafts. Essaouira is known for its strong winds most of the year so it is known as the “City of the wind”. Our visit includes the Mellah – the Jewish headquarter, and the beach. There is an annual festival of “Gnawa music”, where many musical groups come from different parts of Africa and the world. Usually it starts in the third week of June, so if your trip coincides with this, you have the option to extend your stay for an extra day. Today you will have lunch in a Moroccan way, bought fishes ‘cooked to order’. In late afternoon you are free to walk and explore by yourself and sit to feel romantic magic of the city. Overnight accommodation at your Riad in the Medina.

DAY 11 : ESSAOUIRA – SAFI – OUALIDIA - EL JADIDA - CASABLANCA

Today we are going to leave Essaouira toward Casablanca ‘the commercial center of Morocco’ through the road to the coast, while admiring the views. We will pass by Safi one of the great fishing cities then Oualida where you can enjoy delicious seafood in this wonderful place. After lunch we will continue to Casablanca via El Jadida (was known as Mazagan), this ancient medina was established in 1513 by the Portuguese. Once in Casablanca, visiting Hassan 2 the second largest mosque in the world especially its location, right on the tip of the rocky bay above the ocean ,then to Place Mohamed V. Finally you will be driven back to your Riad/Hotel for the night.

DAY 12 : CASABLANCA - RABAT - VOLUBLE - MEKNES

Breakfast is followed by a full historical tour of morocco. In the morning you will be driven to Rabat, you’ll see the Hassan Tower built in 12th-century .then the Ordains Kasbah the 11th-century fortress built in Andalusian-style, it gives fine views over to Salé and the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards we’ll drive to Meknes an imperial city that exists since the first rulers of the Alawite dynasty built by sultan moulay Ismail. There you’ll see the grandiose gateway of Babb el-Mansur, the Sahrij Souani Basin and The Moroccan decorated Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, your journey continues on to Volubilis, This is Morocco's most famous Roman remnant dating in AD 24-28, its walls and main building well preserved . Then we’ll go to Moulay Idriss, A city is built upon the rocky spurs, with the buildings tumbling down the slopes dramatically. For the faithful, this is an important pilgrimage center and an annual religious festival in August .At the end of this exciting day you will be driven to Meknes to check on your Riad.

DAY 13 : MEKNES - FES - AIRPORT TRANSFER

Today, depending on your departure time, we will drive you to the airport for your departure flight or any other place you choose.
