Amazing Moroccan Imperial Cities Tour Via Shara Desert

DAY 1 : CASABLANCA - RABAT - MEKNES

Will we pick you up from your Hotel to visit the Hassan II Mosque before departing to Rabat. where you can visit to the Mechouar of the Royal Palace, the ruins of Chellah, the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower. After lunch we will depart to Meknes to arrive early evening. You can take dinner in the restaurant overlooking the square opposite the Bab Mansour gate. Your accommodation will be in a traditional Riad/Hotel in the old medina.

DAY 2 : MEKNES - VOLUBILIS - FES

After breakfast we make special city tour of Meknes including El hdim square, Bab El Mansour, the massive gate which is the entrance to the old city and the Jewish quarter, the Royal Granaries & the city rampart. We will then depart via Volubilis, the Roman ruins and Moulay Idriss, the holy town and an important place of pilgrimage where the founder of Morocco’s first dynasty is buried. We will continue into Fes. Dinner and accommodation at a traditional Riad.

DAY 3 : FES CITY TOUR

You will have a guided tour to discover the medina and the famous Souks of Fes - its narrow cobbled streets are filled with ancient mosques and towering green-glazed minarets.. You will visit the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Fes. The tour will include a visit to the tannery and the ceramics cooperative to see the traditional Moroccan crafts.

DAY 4 : FES - ILFRANE - AZROU - MIDELT - MERZOUGA

After breakfast we will depart to Merzouga through the Middle Atlas region. We will drive through Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland’ of Morocco and the cedar forests of Azrou where we can stop to hand feed the monkeys. We will continue to Midelt where you will have lunch. We continue then by the road to Ziz River through the valley and stop to see the Ziz Gorges on our way to Merzouga spend a night in one of Merzouga desert luxury camps.

DAY 5 : MERZOUGA - KHAMLIA - RISSANI – ERG CHEBBI

Today we will explore the desert region and the marvel that is the Erg Chebbi desert dunes. We will make a circuit of the desert dunes where you will have the opportunity to see the nomad's way of life and the amazing changing contrasts of the of the desert. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians. We will have a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the afternoon you will ride the camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. you will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert.

DAY 6 : MERZOUGA - TODRA GORGES - DADES GORGES

We will wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the dunes before making our way back to the desert camp for breakfast and a shower. We will cross the palm lined valleys of Tourog and Tinjdad to arrive to Todra Gorge. We will take a walk in the Todra Gorges and have lunch in a local restaurant Later on, we drive to Boumalne dades and stopping for a panoramic view of dades valley spend the night at a luxury Riad in Dades.

DAY 7 : DADES GORGE - EL KELAA MAGONA - SKOURA – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast we will take a walk in the gorge and then take the off road track to see the nomad caves. We will continue via El Kelaa Magona, Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis to arrive early evening in Ouarzazate luxury Riad.

DAY 8 : OUARZAZATE GUIDED TOUR

You will have the day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing. You can visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the “Hollywood of Morocco”, the Atlas film studios.

DAY 9 : OUARZAZATE - TELOUET - MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will depart to Ait Benhaddou and visit the World Heritage Site. We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech night in Riad/Hotel.

DAY 10 : MARRAKECH CITY TOUR

You will have a guided tour of Marrakech including a visit to the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saâdien tombs and the Bahia palace. You can explore the amazing medina and the fascinating Jamaa El Fna square with lively entertainment and lovely Souks.

DAY 11 : FREE DAY IN MARRAKECH

You will have the day to explore Marrakech or you can take an optional day tour to Cascade d’Ouzoud.

DAY 12 : MARRAKECH TO ESSAOUIRA

We will spend the morning at leisure for shopping or relaxing in Marrakech before departing at your convenience to Essaouira.

DAY 13 : ESSAOUIRA CITY TOUR

Enjoy your day wandering the old fortified fishing port of Essaouira on the atlantic coast. See the amazing mixture of Portuguese and Berber architecture. Explore the colorful souks, art galleries, the carpentry workshops devoted to cedar and They wood carving and the fortified harbor with its stalls of freshly caught seafood.

DAY 14 : ESSAOUIRA – BACK TO MARRAKECH

We will spend the morning at leisure for shopping or relaxing in Essaouira before leaving early afternoon to arrive in Marrakech by 4pm (or if you have a departing flight or want to spend time we can leave Marrakech at your convenience).
