Great Vacation From Fes South & Kasbah Tour

DAY 1 : FES – AZROU – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast we’ll continue our 5-days Moroccan tour and we head towards Ifrane, nicknamed as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We stop at a cedar forest near Azrou city where we may will watch and feed Barbarian apes. Then we’ll travel through Ziz valley passing few Berber villages to Erfoud Head through the oasis towns of Erfoud and Merzouga, then take your camel in Erg Chebbi and follow your camel guide into the Sahara Desert. Admire the incredible views as the sun sets over the high dunes. Then, arrive at a desert camp, where you spend the night, and have a traditional Moroccan dinner while local nomads play traditional folk songs. Overnight Erg Chebbi luxury desert camp.

DAY 2 : MERZOUGA­ – ERG CHEBBI TOUR ­ – CAMEL TREKKING

After a Moroccan breakfast, we’ll begin our 4×4 tour to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, Among the many stops that await you will discover how and where nomadic families in the area live , wild oasis in the middle of nowhere , spectacular desert landscapes and small villages , palm groves. Inevitable stop as we passed through the village of Khamlia where live people originating from Mali , they will entertain you with a nice concert of Gnawa music, while you enjoy a delicious tea. Back at the hotel and get ready for another kind of adventure, ride the camels for 45 minutes to the middle of the sand dunes where the desert luxury camp is situated. Along the way you’ll have a stop to watch the beautiful sunset , the camel guides will help you to take some wonderful pictures. After dinner in the camp , will seat around the campfire and enjoy Berber music played by drummers.

DAY 3 : CAMEL TREKKING – ­RISSANI­ MARKET –TODRA GORGES- BOUMALN DADES

Today, You have to wake up early morning in order to enjoy the beautiful sunrise between the sand dunes Then get ready to ride the camels back to the desert camp where will have breakfast and shower . After breakfast, we will drive to Rissani Market , the oldest one in the region , after a walk in the different corners of the market, we will drive to Todra valley and Gorges where you’ll enjoy a walk through its marvelous canyons . In the evening, we will drive to Dades valley where you will spend the night in a a luxury Riad.

DAY 4: DADES VALLEY- ROSES VALLEY- SKOURA- OURZAZATE

Breakfast at theRiad, we begin our journey along the road of 1000 Thousand Kasbahs, since there are enormous kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of those old fortified houses are restored but unfortunately a lot of them are ruins. We pass through Dades valley and go up to the mountainous area through an off-road trail where many Berber villages and few nomads living in caves, here we will have the chance to visit one of this families and take a look at their daily life and their main activity “Looking after herds of goats & cheep”. We will be impressed by the landscapes of the colorful rose valley before we reach Skoura palm grove. 45km further, we reach Ouarzazate for the dinner and overnight at the Hotel/Riad.

DAY 5: OURZAZATE- AIT BEN HADDOU-HIGH ATLAS- MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we can enjoy a visit of cinema sets & studios located in Ouarzazate which is known as Hollywood of Africa. Afterwards we will visit the universal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for many movies including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built. We continue our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass. Break for lunch in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your Marrakech Riad/Hotel.
